Monday 28th October 2013.

Plenty of rain locally and so a bike-ride to the weir at Warth was done. River Irwell levels are up a bit but not, as yet, too bad.
Along the way many roadside drainage grids are blocked with leaves etc., and the resulting puddles are getting massive – watch-out for potholes hidden by them if out on a bike.
The homeward canal-ride was a wet one. But a picture of bridging ooparts came out reasonably well.
An old railway oopart – the Central Line route – has been mentioned as an alternative for a HS2 route. Like much of the old (steam) railway stuff around Radcliffe, it’s still there.
